Biography

Cody is a Partner at Loftin Law Group, LLC. Since 2016 he has litigated cases throughout the State of Louisiana and in various federal courts. His personal injury practice spans motor-vehicle wrecks, slip and trip and fall cases, wrongful death and survival actions, maritime and offshore injuries, and toxic torts.

In addition to personal injury, Cody has handled numerous first-party homeowner insurance and business interruption claims arising out of hurricane and property damage. He also practices in workers' compensation, all aspects of family and domestic law, and criminal defense — including serious crimes of violence, felonies, and misdemeanors in both state and federal courts.

In November 2024, Cody became dual bar licensed and was admitted to the State of Texas, expanding his personal injury and criminal defense practice into Texas.

Cody earned his Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from McNeese State University. While at SULC, he interned for Judge Shelly Dick at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana and Judge Jewel "Duke" Welch at the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal. Prior to attending McNeese State for his undergraduate studies, Cody graduated from Oakdale High School and grew up in Oakdale, LA.

When Cody isn't fighting for his clients, he is spending time with his family. He is a fan of the LSU Tigers, the New Orleans Saints, and the Houston Astros.
